Created by jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé on behalf of the Russian Tsar family, these eggs are known for their unparalleled beauty and complex design. Historically, Fabergé eggs were exclusive gifts given by the Tsarist family to loved ones at Easter. These eggs were often filled with surprises, which could be anything from small jewelry to mechanical toys. The Tsar family ordered a total of 50 such eggs from Fabergé between the years 1885 and 1917, of which 43 are still preserved.
